Accessibility Statement

California Society of Plastic Surgeons — Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: September 3, 2026

Our Commitment

The California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) is committed to making our website and our programs accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want members, patients, and members of the public to be able to find, read, and use the information we publish, regardless of the technology or assistive tools they use.

We view accessibility as ongoing work rather than a finished project, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines are the widely recognized standard for making web content accessible to people with a range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard. We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit of the Website. We are working to identify barriers and to improve conformance over time, and we update this statement as that work progresses.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, CSPS:

  • Considers accessibility when selecting website platforms, vendors, and tools

  • Uses page structure, headings, and link text intended to work with screen readers and keyboard navigation

  • Provides text alternatives for images that convey information

  • Aims for sufficient color contrast between text and background

  • Asks our website and association management providers about the accessibility of the systems they operate on our behalf

  • Reviews accessibility feedback we receive and works to address the issues raised

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content on our website may not yet be fully accessible. Areas where limitations are most likely include:

  • Documents. Some PDFs, meeting programs, and archived materials may not be fully tagged for screen readers or may have been scanned from print. We can provide these materials in an alternative format on request.

  • Video and audio. Some recorded educational content may lack captions or transcripts.

  • Older content. Materials published before our current standards were adopted may not meet them.

  • Third-party content. Content and functionality supplied by outside providers may not be under our direct control, as described below.

If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us. Specific reports are the most useful thing we receive.

Third-Party Content and Platforms

Portions of our website and services rely on third-party platforms, including our website host, our association management and event registration system, our email platform, and our webinar platform. We do not control the underlying code of these systems and cannot guarantee their conformance with accessibility standards. We raise accessibility issues with these providers when we identify them.

Our website also links to external sites, including the individual practice websites of our members. CSPS is not responsible for the accessibility of websites we do not operate.

Meetings, Events, and Accommodations

CSPS is committed to making our meetings and educational programs accessible. If you need an accommodation to participate in a CSPS meeting, webinar, or educational activity — including materials in an alternative format, assistive listening devices, captioning, or accessible seating or facilities — please contact us using the information below.

Please make accommodation requests as far in advance as possible, and no later than the date stated on the applicable registration form, so we have time to make arrangements. We will work with you to identify a reasonable accommodation.

Alternative Formats

If you cannot access any information on our website, we will provide it to you in another format at no cost. Contact us and tell us what you need and how you would prefer to receive it.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website and programs. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know. It helps us most if you can tell us:

  • The page or document where you encountered the problem, including the web address if you have it

  • What you were trying to do

  • The browser, device, or assistive technology you were using
