CSPS-PAC

CSPS Political Action Committee

A Strong Voice for Plastic Surgery in California

Decisions made in Sacramento directly affect plastic surgeons, their practices, and the patients they serve. The California Society of Plastic Surgeons Political Action Committee—CSPS-PAC—helps ensure our profession has a meaningful voice in those decisions.

By supporting candidates who understand the importance of patient safety, physician-led care, and a strong plastic surgery community, CSPS-PAC helps protect the future of our specialty throughout California.

Why the CSPS-PAC Matters

The future of plastic surgery is shaped not only in clinics and operating rooms, but also at the State Capitol. Legislation and regulation can influence patient access, professional qualifications, surgical-facility standards, scope of practice, medical advertising, prior authorization, and the independence of physicians.

CSPS-PAC works alongside the CSPS Legislative Committee, Executive Committee, and professional lobbyist to educate policymakers, build productive relationships, and support candidates who understand the issues affecting California plastic surgeons and their patients.

Advocacy in Action

CSPS has a long history of engaging with state leaders on issues important to plastic surgery. Recent priorities have included medical-spa oversight, prior-authorization reform, physician independence, responsible representation of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and stronger protections for patients.

Through legislative outreach, timely updates, and coordinated member participation, CSPS helps policymakers understand how proposed laws could affect medical care throughout California. A strong PAC complements these efforts by helping build relationships with leaders who share our commitment to safe, ethical, and accessible care.

Legislative Advocacy Day

Each year, CSPS members, residents, and medical students come together in Sacramento for Legislative Advocacy Day. Participants meet directly with legislators and their staff, share the perspective of California’s plastic surgery community, and discuss policies affecting physicians and patients.

Whether you are an experienced advocate or visiting the Capitol for the first time, your participation helps demonstrate the strength and unity of our profession.
